I almost always blog via my cell so forgive the link and not the article right here for you all to read. http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/national_world&id=8046481
Possible thoughts of the co workers who opted not to play in the pool that week…”Let get right to it, they won my money. I usually always play and that money should of been mine. I ALWAYS PLAY!”
Did you guys see the news about the NY co workers who won the 300milion plus jackpot? Did you see the ones coming forward cause they “usually play” but didn’t and feel they need they cut?
Well, I could be jumping the gun on this but I see some bullshit brewing.
Co workers who play lottery pools are usually die hard about playing. They play weekly and sometimes more than once during the week. Win or lose they about they buisness of the lottery.
More than likely as the news progress we will find out why those co-workers didn’t play that week. In the mean time one of the ones who passed on playing for sure has come forward to the news. *scratches head*
Why? Why did anyone BUT the winners feel they need to come forward? Come forward to say ” I didn’t play damm”, cause that’s about all I see they NEED to say. Yet I heard on the radio the ones who didn’t play that week feel they are owed a cut. A “cut”?……a cut of WHAT?
If you didn’t play you didn’t win. I’m almost sure when they decided to do a lottery pool, there wasn’t and written or verbal agreement saying “look it don’t matter if you play…just long as you have played with us before, if our numbers fall you still get paid”. Um no! Theys not reality. You didn’t play….you didn’t win. Your co workers won and don’t owe you a DIME! Not in good faith either. They don’t owe the losers.
Hopefully the coworkers who didn’t play don’t take this court and tie of the money. Going on my shabby memory, this has happen before. Some folks forgot to play and they coworkers hit and wanted they “cut”. It went to court, and I think they lost. If anyone knows for sure please feel free to correct me.
Personally I think that the people that won MIGHT just throw them a lil somin’ somin. Just on the strength. HOWEVER let me be clear. THEY DON’T HAVE TOO AND DON’T OWE THE ONES WHO DIDN’T PLAY, A FRIGGIN DIME! Should one or all decide to give the coworkers who decided not to play a few dollars, then that’s wonderful. Hopefully the ones who opted out don’t get to feeling like “they better” give them money and it must be a equal share.
Me personally, (I can’t speak for the others who won but I think they might do this or give more) I would give 5,000$ to the 5 to split, who opted out. Yes I said a mear 5,000$ from my 19million. Something is better than nothing, considering you NOT OWED NOTHING. Oh and let me say this, that hot 5,000$ would be based the atitude of ones who didn’t play. Get to talking smack and threating court, you would get nadda!
Hopefully the ones who didn’t play don’t try to pull the tears and its hard out here card. Well it was hard for all the co workers, hence I’m sure the reason the lottery pool so they all could be rich together. ( I don’t know that to be a fact, I’m just guessing.)
Wait, just had a brain fart…..I take that back I wouldn’t give the ones who opted out anything. Maybe (real big maybe) later, after I bathed nakid in the money for a few days. I have to take care my kids first and get us squared away. The tickets are only 1.00$. The winners of this lottery were employed. They decided to not get that one cup of coffe or Mt. Dew from the vendor machine to make sure they played every week. (Or how ever many times they played) So shame on the ones who decided not to play. I understand when you don’t win its a waste. I lose all the time when I play, but you know what?….I get that change out the bottom of my purse and play.
So the ones who missed out IT IS, WHAT IT IS…and don’t be bitter. Let the winners bask in the glory and have there moment. Don’t assume they all have to give you some money just cause you “always use to play and had been playing for years”. That’s NOT right to me. You didn’t play and knew the risk. There’s always that “what if” we hit moment. Well by golly, the “what if” DID happen and Y’ALL DIDN’T play. Its NOT the ones fault who won. I’m hoping friendships don’t be lost over this massive win. Usually that’s what happen. Its sad but its reality.
What are y’all thoughts on this? If you were one of the winners, would you automatically share with the ones who decided NOT to play that week?…..would you handle your buisness first and then share?…..would you say “fair is fair”, I played I won?….
Okay later guys ~Toodles~

I would regret it it, but I still would not and should not EXPECT that any of them OWED me a dime. The news said his co workers even offered to pay his 2.00$ to be in the pot…he refused….he said he was embarrassed about being broke that week. So he missed out fair n square.

Regret…its a strange emotion. Imagine, if you forgot to play and your coworkers won. Oh, I think that would be worst.

@ventamatic I totally agree with you as well. But so many folks say giving the one who didn’t play some money cause its “just the right thing to do”….Girl BYE! Right then to do was to play. Hello! Can’t guilt trip me cause u didn’t play. I even heard on the news his coworkers offered him the money to play…he declined cause he was embarrassed to be broke. His fault. I just don’t agree with people feeling like the winners “owe” him or “have” give him some money.

nice post, i agree with you, the winner/winners who won a jack pot, lotto or won any money at all, they do not have to share with the losers at all , not even if they know them well. if i won the lotto, i would say screw you , plain and simple . thats the one thing i would hate about winning something that big, all the people coming out of the wood works claiming to be a blood relative of some kind and others going boo hoo i need money.
i would tell them go buy a ticket like every one else, yes i’m mean, i pay my bills
